DAY 1, February 15, 2021 | Accra

Upon arrival to Kotoka International Airport (ACC), your guide will transfer you to the hotel. Meet your fellow delegates and gather for the welcome dinner and a cultural performance.

DAY 2, February 16, 2021 | Accra – Cape Coast
Accra – Cape Coast

After breakfast, check out of your hotel for a visit to the People to People chapter in Accra. After lunch, we will depart for the Cape Coast, a beautiful and historic fishing port on the Gulf of Guinea in the south of Ghana. Your evening and dinner will be spent at leisure.

DAY 3, February 17, 2021 | Cape Coast – Accra
Cape Coast – Accra

After breakfast, we will check out of our hotel and pay a courtesy call to the paramount chief and elders of the village amidst traditional drumming and dancing by the villagers. You will participate in a naming ceremony and receive a traditional Ghanaian name. After the ceremony, continue to have lunch at a local restaurant. Afterwards, embark on a tour of the infamous forts, castles and slave dungeons of Ghana. Encounter the history of the slave trade, the impact of which is still felt beyond the shores of Africa today. Visit the Cape Coast Castle built by the Swedes in 1653 and later taken over by the British. This castle also houses the West African Historical Museum, established by the Smithsonian Institute in collaboration with the Ghanaian Government in 1994. After dinner on your own, participate in KASA (TALK TIME) at 8.30pm. This is an opportunity to learn more about Ghanaian culture or simply talk to each other and share information about the experiences you are having on the tour. Then enjoy a bonfire by the beach!

DAY 4, February 18, 2021 | Accra

After breakfast, we’ll depart from our hotel for a sightseeing tour of the economic and administrative districts of Accra. This 139-year old city has a blend of colonial and modern architecture that summarize her history. This refers us to the Christianberg Castle in Osu, which originally belonged to the Danish before being sold to the Dutch. We’ll visit the WEB DuBois Center for Pan-African Culture, Independence/Black Star Square, and Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park. We’ll end our tour at the Arts Center where you’ll have an opportunity to use your bargaining skills to shop in the open-air market for great items from all over West Africa.

DAY 5, February 19, 2021 | Accra – Lome
Accra – Lome

After breakfast, depart the nation of Ghana for Lome, the capital of Togo. Check in at the hotel, have lunch on your own at a local restaurant, and take some time to relax. Later in the afternoon, begin a guided city tour of Lome. We’ll visit Grand Marche, Marche des Feticheurs, Musee National, as well as the Place de I’Independence.

DAY 6, February 20, 2021 | Lome

After breakfast, we’ll depart our hotel for a People to People chapter visit in Ahepe-Kpowla, one of our most active international chapters. Afterwards, we’ll return to our hotel and relax. Tonight, we will enjoy a farewell dinner together.
